An airplane cockpit full of sweaty men and a bitchy stewardess take to the skies and experience something magical. They survive this ordeal by only discussing what they see out the window instead of showing it. Except the 12 second shot of a dinosaur. Imagine the most boring dream you've ever had. You explain it to your creepy doctor and your 65 year old friend who acts like he's 18 and they both react like it's the most intense, amazing dream you've ever had. FOOTSTEPS? Then something slightly similar happens and you manage to avoid being on an exploding plane. Do you think about those poor souls lost in the explosion? Nope. You just care about you, don't you? 52: TZ1959 - 216 - A Penny For Your Thoughts
This might be the most off topic episode to date. They discuss being good friends with Justin Timberlake, the 60's Gerry Anderson puppet shows that were super creepy, how annoying it is when people tell the time by saying it's 10 of 9, the DMV experiences they've had and then touch on the simple storyline of this episode. This TZ episode has the most rushed opening ever when they could have spent time setting it up which ruined it for Phoenix. Also, Phoenix tries to get Frank to set him up for a mind reading bit the entire episode which finally pays off so you'll have to listen for that. OUR LISTENERS ARE ASSHOLES. What? I didn't say that out loud.
51: TZ1959 - 215 - The Invaders
A great episode without dialogue in which a woman goes insane and murders her children. Or that's what Phoenix thinks really happened in this one. Instead the twist ending divides Phoenix and Frank. Great episodes with minimal plots are difficult to dissect but they find a way to go off topic and still break down the episode. Probably.
50: TZ1959 - 214 - The Whole Truth
This is the longest TZ review episode yet. This is also the worst episode of TZ so far but we managed to milk it for all it had. A scumbag used car salesman buys a haunted car that makes him tell the truth. Frank and Phoenix debate haunted versus cursed, talk at length about cunt honey or a honey cunt and then sort of touch on the episode at hand.
49: TZ1959 - 213 - Back There
Lazy. This episode is dogshit lazy. "What if you could time travel?" Then the guy time travels because of a conversation. Lazy. This episode is dogshit lazy.
48: TZ1959 - 212 - Dust
This episode tackles the worst parts of life. Depression? Check. Capital punishment? Check. Angry vengeful mobs? Check. Racism? Big fat check. Child homicide? Tiny check. Fraud? Check. Magic? Check. Drugs? Check. This world is terrible. 47: TZ1959 - 211 - The Night Of The Meek
It's always nice to be able to root for your town drunk. In this cheerful Christmas story pulled from the gutters, a drunk wishes to become Santa Claus. Then he does just that. Apparently it's a very simple request. Also, a cop and a store owner develope a very happy, public, gay relationship which actually seems like a harder request in 1960. 46: TZ1959 - 210 - A Most Unusual Camera
Every single anthology series has a story about a camera or painting that can predict the future. Spooky spooky and so on. This one is for some unknown reason, a 'comedy'. It features the stupidest characters in television history. A 60 year old small time crook. An annoying blonde female with the voice of Harry Fierstein on helium. A giant, child-like moron recently escaped from prison. A truly evil bellhop. Also features a camera. A most unusual one.
45: TZ1959 - 209 - The Trouble With Templeton
Frank couldn't handle this simple plot. Phoenix liked this episode for some reason. This could be the most divisive episode yet. In reality it was just alright but the two go off on many different subjects and many different TZ episodes before finishing this podcast. Enjoy?

Fuck this fucking episode. It was shot on video and looks like shit. The plot is shit. The actors are shit. The twist ending is shit. Shit...
43: TZ1959 - 207 - Nick Of Time
In this gripping tale of domestic violence and gambling addiction, Shatner gets minor advice from a mystic seer. By that I mean a countertop toy on a small town diner booth. His poor wife has a lifetime of bankruptcy ahead of her. Luckily she won't be allowed to have an opinion on it though. He simply won't allow it.
42: TZ1959 - 206 - Eye Of The Beholder
Frank and Phoenix discuss perhaps the most popular TZ episode of all time. They do not agree with the IMDb rating at all. It's a fine episode but the premise is stretched to a Goodfellas onion level of thin. Only in that movie they make a delicious Italian meal. This episode provides an obvious ending without much follow up. The major problem with this episode is that 18 minutes are spent concealing and then revealing pig doctors and then the remaining few minutes reveal a fascinating Pig-Hitler world which is genuinly interesting. But then the episode ends and we are left with credits instead of seeing the world Pig-Hitler crafted. Opportunity wasted.

The Howling Man stars a bunch of monks facing off against a stupid man. This is biblical allegory through and through. Did you know pillars make you change into the devil? It's true! Frank and Phoenix discuss this overrated episode while attempting to figure out why it's so revered.
40: TZ1959 - 204 - A Thing About Machines
Phoenix and Frank discuss A Thing About Machines. Is this main character an asshole or is he driven insane by the machines? Which came first...the asshole or the machine? Anyway, this episode is stupid. Really stupid.
39: TZ1959 - 203 - Nervous Man In A Four Dollar Room
The only time you can get a four dollar room nowadays is if you rented 10 minutes at the Jizz-N-Go Hotel. You now have HIV. This episode should have been stupid and boring but great camera movements and tricks made it fun to watch. Kudos, dead crew of The Twilight Zone. Kudos.
38: TZ1959 - 202 - The Man In The Bottle
