Morales wasn't killed in 104 because he's totally alive in this one. I apologize. I don't see race during zombie outbreaks. I'm not Merle. In this one, we see Shane want to kill Rick in probably the most intense scene of seasons 1-5 combined. Not until Negan shows up is there such intensity. Maybe the bathtub murders later on but that's a maybe. Anyway, Phoenix stays mostly on topic in this one.
69: The Walking Dead - 104 - Vatos
Latinos aren't all bad guys, guys! That's good news. Because we all assumed they were, right? But nope. This episode says otherwise. Phoenix goes off topic for a while to rant about the differences/similarities between marijuana smokers and beer drinkers and their weird subcultures. He also talks about the grandma in this episode and her total lack of situational awareness.
68: The Walking Dead - 103 - Tell It To The Frogs
This episode goes really off topic in a great way. It mostly focuses on wondering why Shane and Rick, knowing that the world is completely ruined and pure chaos, would proceed to blow loads up in Lori. It's a dangerous game to play that obviously can only result in an 8 pound burden. Stupid. Anyway, they fish/hunt frogs in this episode and that's where the title comes from. We meet Daryl and he's just awful at first.
67: The Walking Dead - 102 - Guts
Why do zombies have such good smelling abilities. Why can they smell at all? Smelling requires oxygen which they can't produce. Climbing fences requires strength with requires muscles which require fresh blood with oxygen in them. They can't climb fences. Nothing about zombies makes sense. It's all bullshit. But zombies are cool so here we are. In this one, Shane makes the right decision for once. We meet a racist and a guy named Morales that Phoenix completely forgot existed because he simply walks away from the group early on. Enjoy.
66: The Walking Dead - 101 - Days Gone Bye
I got too bored waiting a whole week for an episode of The Walking Dead so I went back and watched season 1. Eventually I'll get through every episode. This was recorded at 1 am after a few beers so it's a little long. I'll record the rest of the season 1 episodes in the morning after plenty of coffee to speed things up.
65: The Walking Dead - 703 - The Cell
This episode rhymes with the last one. It truly does! Daryl and Dwight have similar names. The Walking Dad has pacing problems and Phoenix really breaks it down at the end of this podcast. Listen for hilarious results. Who is Sherry? Why is this description out of order? Am I even thinking about the show I recorded or just writing nonsense at this point? Yes. And what is Sherry talking about?
64: The Walking Dead - 702 - The Well
In this episode, Phoenix talks about how many black British kings there were throughout history. Also, Shiva is a real tiger and not a stuffed toy or poster like he had hoped but he doesn't address that in the episode so that's what this long sentence is for. Deal with it. This episode serves one purpose: make you hate Morgan less. It worked.
63: The Walking Dead - 701 - The Day Will Come When You Won't Be
In this episode, Phoenix gives a spoiler free review of Negan killing Glenn and Abraham to death, all the way until they no longer contained life. Murder. What a bad man. What a handsome bad man that Phoenix would totally bang if given half a chance. Half a chance? Does that imply rape? Not sure but it's still true.
62: Fear The Walking Dead - 215 - North
In this episode, Phoenix starts off like he's having a stroke but recollects and finishes the episode in amazing fashion. He continues to talk about how Madison is the most dangerous person in this world because of pure stupidity. He also talks about the bullshit scene in which Madison thinks searching dead bodies for clues for Colonia is a good idea when those dead bodies were there because they were being tortured for evidence as to where Colonia is. But it worked out somehow. Bullshit.
61: Fear The Walking Dead - 214 - Wrath
In this episode, Phoenix is let down by what happens to Chris. This episode has two of the best shots/scenes in the show so far but one of them takes away a future villain. Is it what's best for the show or just shock value at this point? Phoenix doesn't answer that question in this episode. Listen anyway.
60: Fear The Walking Dead - 213 - Date Of Death
In this episode, Phoenix continues to talk about how stupid Madison is. He also talks about loving Chris now and how well the show is showing his rise to becoming a villain. Also, yelling "Goddamn you, Chris." is just good fatherly advice.
59: Fear The Walking Dead - 212 - Pillar Of Salt
In this episode, Phoenix ruins Madison and her stupid decisions that are purely dangerous to the entire group of survivors at the hotel. She's scary stupid. Scarier than the zombies. As smart as the zombies. Anyway, not much happens in this episode so it's hard to talk about in length. Enjoy.
58: Fear The Walking Dead - 211 - Pablo & Jessica
In this episode, Phoenix is way behind on this show. At the point of recording, the entire second season of FTWD show has aired as well as the first episode of The Walking Dead's season 7. But anyway, fuck the pier scene in this episode. Fuck it hard. With super loud epic music.
57: Fear The Walking Dead - 210 - Do Not Disturb
In this episode, Phoenix discusses: how boring Travis is, how amazing Chris' transformation is, how not seeing a grave for someone isn't proof of their survival, how slowly stabbing 2 zombies in the head isn't proof of badassery, and how a fear of loud noises is a surefire way to get killed in this world. Plus he takes credit for Chris' turn to the dark side. AMC listens to this show right?
56: Fear The Walking Dead - 209 - Los Muertos
In this episode, Phoenix gets really angry about how easy it is to blend in with these boring zombies. Are the zombies in this show so tame because they're west coast relaxed? At any rate, it was a good episode with stupid decisions made by every single major character. Surrounded by zombies that want to eat your entire body and people that want to rape that body, rob and kill you? Better get shit-faced drunk in a place that you aren't familiar with without anyone guarding the perimeter. These characters deserve to die.
55: Fear The Walking Dead - 208 - Grotesque
In this episode...you know what? This was a good episode that focused only on Nick but Phoenix hated discussing it because nothing much happened. So this episode falls apart toward the end due to disinterest. You've been warned. Oh, wait... If you're in the apocalypse and have to walk 100 miles to Tijuana...grab a fucking bicycle, they're goddamn everywhere.
54: Fear The Walking Dead - 207 - Shiva
The mid-season finale is here. Whatever the hell that is. Nick is a scary blood covered psychopath. Daniel is a voice-hearing psychopath. Celia is a zombie-alive-keeper psychopath. Travis is a psychopath deny-er. Chris is just a psychopath. Will he finally become a villain like Phoenix wants? Maybe. The answer is maybe.
53: Fear The Walking Dead - 206 - Sicut Cervus
This episode is a couple months delayed. Sorry. In this episode, Phoenix talks about the psychopath growing inside Chris, Nick having to kill a bunch of kids, Daniel losing his goddamn mind and the dangers of repeating plot points of The Walking Dead....I mean, we're finally off the boat but now we're on a farm where they keep zombies locked up in a shed. Sound familiar? At least nobody is pregnant. Unless you consider Chris being pregnant with insanity. Sooner or later the water will break and a newborn baby psychopath will be loose. Did that make sense? Oh well.
52: Fear The Walking Dead - 205 - Captive
In this episode, Phoenix has to deal with yet another episode on a boat. But this time there's a twist! It's set on 3 different boats! Even when they are on land it's a boat on land. I shit you not. He also talks about how Alicia is finally becoming a decent character and how Chris needs to be put down (killed). Daniel is coming undone? Already? The only great character. Phoenix also asks his female listeners to send him an email at loiteringinwonderland@gmail.com and let him know what they think about the poor writing of female characters on this show. Seriously, he needs your opinions.
51: Fear The Walking Dead - 204 - Blood In The Streets
In this episode, Phoenix talks about how in all 4 episodes this season, a character or characters went to dry land while other stayed on the boat, had an experience that didn't matter on the land and then at the end of the episode came back to the boat. Well THIS episode threw a wrench in that because the experience on land wasn't an island and the side plot actually matters. Know what the worst gunman in the world is? An annoying 8 month pregnant woman. This episode wasn't bad, it was just kind of boring and that's the worst thing you can be.
